Default What would you rather have?

Would you rather have a Hellhound tank (or varients) or a Griffon mortar tank? I've got components to build both but i don't know which way to go.
This is all the information you have, i can't tell you what is already in the army nor what style of play i would be using. You have no outside information. You just need to make this one choice.

Personally I'd say Hellhound. Just because there are better heavy options than the Griffon IMO, while the Hellhound fulfills more of a niche role.

Plus, you can KILL IT WITH FIRE.

+1 scscofield

Atrocity never balances or rectifies the past. Atrocity merely arms the future for more atrocity. It is self-perpetuating upon itself a barbarous form of incest. Whoever commits atrocity also commits those future atrocities thus bred."

Not sure exactly how easy, chimera chasis to hellhound turret will be, i'll need to have a closer look at the sprues. It's definately a possibility though.

Tsk Tsk...don't you guys know yet that once one starts IG it's a neverending quest to have it all

Griffon and Hell Hound are both anti-Infantry but one can stay back and pound away at range, while the other one needs to be used aggressively more often than not, so usually advancing up the board as part of an AV12 wall, etc.

Both have done quite well out of the new Rules, and if you're also looking at the varients the Devil Dog is now a more efficient tank hunter, and the Bane Wolf a killier MEQ hunter.

Still, I agree with spanner that there is better Artillery than a Griffon, although you can get 2 Griffons for similar points cost of a single 1 of the others.

The griffon though can be used to snipe characters with it's accurate rule (Being able to place that shot directly where you want is pretty huge in 6th), my Heavy Mortars love 6th edition.

I agree. Still IG aren't lacking in units that can do similar, just not as accurately...well as far as Barrage goes anyway.

Griffons have always been a good choice, I've used my 2 regularly...just not as regularly as Manticores or Medusas.

Those Heavy Mortars...they're great too, and Thudd Guns as well
