Default Allies = more plastics?

Just thinking about 6th edition from a purely business point of veiw, given that the choice of models available to your army has just gone through the roof, i was thinking this could mean we potentially see more units in plastic.By that i mean units that would have normally just been produced in fine cast because they might not sell enough to warrant the costs associated with plastic production, for example the eldar aspect warriors have always sold in fewer numbers because eldar armies have a broad spectrum of elites and are very specialised , but given that these models are now available to lots more armies could any future aspect warriors be produced in plastic as the potential for sales has increased?

I came to this while pondering the sisters in another thread, we expect a sisters relaunch and given that they can now ally with loads of armies there potential sales has really increased which would justify the switch to plastic.

I can only hope so.

Fantasy has seen an insane switch to plastic with 8th edition... I'm hoping 40k will follow suit on the armies that need it.

Also, I'm hoping that they'll plug the Anti-Air gaps really quickly. They gave us nifty plastic flyers, how about some nifty plastic AA to counterbalance that as well? I'm 1000% sure that if they made plastic hydra flak tanks, they would sell faster then cookies at a pot head convention (especially since IG can ally with pretty much ANY imperial or even chaos army).

I had an AMAZING time at fightclub.

I arrived a bit late, so I missed the introductions, but man... I had an awesome time at fightclub! 10/10 I would recommend fight club to anybody!

Can't people just convert hydras? It only took me a few hours and 10 dollars max.

WHY DO LOTR BOXES HAVE 50% LESS MODELS FOR 30% LESS?

That would be the only reason for me too take allies is the hydra. But if I was a flyer, my very first target would be that very tank. Once its gone you will have a much easier time of it.

Your toast has been burnt and no amount of scraping will get rid of the black bits.

I think that GW's way of filling the AA hole will mainly be via new Codecii, ala Missile Launchers with Flakk upgrade...not that a plastic Hydra wouldn't be nice.

Once these new Codecii hit the streets I don't see Flyers getting any where near the amount of hoopla we're seeing currently, and they'll just be another option to field, not a must-have.

Problem with that though HOBO is we'll be play WH40K 8th edition before all the current codices get updated. So who wants to be the bastard who is last inline to receive Skyfire? I play space marines and GW won't treat their cash cow that badly.

I hear you, but it's got me stuffed why AA for every army wasn't sorted out in the latest round of errata/FAQ's.

Time will tell if GW do new errata or not for this AA issue...I hope so.

Unfortunately its combined with the worst business mistake ever
Make everything plastic
Charge 15-25+ for 10 plastic men
And have a rulesystem that encourages units of 30-50 blokes
People stop playing.

Idiots

Sorry about this second post, but in the Rumour's Forum there's that
faeit212 Exclusive Thread, towards the bottom where the guy is talking to Matt Ward...he says that Flakk upgrade will be filtering through in time, and to expect a FAQ by Summer's end.

There ya go
