mix in a couple boxes of SMs of *insert army here* and you have a good starter set for creating your own warband of fallen warriors from *chapter name here*.

Edit: also you could easily go the other route of just using CSM models for a different codex; Abaddon & his terminator elite guard (Logan Wing) for example.
Sweet thanks, I was unsure how it was viewed to take loyal models as fallen troopers.

The IG are proof that good things come to us who wait. I've been Guard since 3rd ed. I been in the store and remember getting 5 boxes of men (when they came in 20 man boxes) 3 Commissars and praying that I might survive til turn 4. I've stuck it out, and you know what I have to say? WHO'S DYING NOW HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!

Wow Kreuger, how old are those blood slaughterers? I know for a fact that they weren't in the original chaos codex, did you pull them from all the back in Rogue Trader? I honestly was pretty impressed by the rerelease by forgeworld, those models are nasty!

Obinhi, I'd highly recommend buying some spare sprues for chaos infantry and vehicle accessories from ebay and going nuts with the converting. Cool models will always be cool models, whatever happens to the rules. I use a mix of blood angel, dark angel and generic csm for my chosen, and it works a real treat!

Check out my Imperial Guard Battle-Group-in-the-making as it slowly takes form! Located just here:

And my collection of all things - particularly Grey Knights; Guard and Adeptus Mechanicus: https://www.heresy-online.net/forums/...d.php?t=129966
