Default Strangest game ever

So a little bit ago i played a 2500 point game against the new necrons. My opponent didn't have a whole lot of models so he threw together a royal court deathstar (lords w/ 2+/3++ MSS WS).

I was playing my dark eldar. Game started off great when i first turn tank shocked the stormlord and unit off the table (with advance aether sails), then i began taking apart the rest of his army with my venoms.

Long story short i tabled him TWICE... and still lost due to KP. That royal court deathstar is freaking devistating. it never goes away!!!

What are some of your weird games?

Beat down a GK army after it killed my monolith and my night scythe turn one.

Funny part was when my immortal held up against 4 man palidin squad with attached grand master, then broke from combat shot them and finished them off.

Back in the proverbial day (2nd ed), my chaos marines faced off against my friends orks.

We both set up scouts on the opposing sides of a small hill in no-man's land. I had my chaos veterans and he had ork blood axe kommandos.

So the game begins, he wins initiative chooses to go first and his kommandos charge over the hill into my unit. We fight combat and I whiff pretty badly. I think we both did 1 wound and had to roll off for victory. I lost the roll and failed my morale check and fled from combat. In that system when fleeing from another immediate mini-round of combat with the victors getting bonuses over the losers. (well so without explaining how close combat worked back then, suffice it to say very different than now)

So . . . while my unit is fleeing from combat several of my opponent's kommandos fumbled their weapons and my fleeing models actually won several of those fights and killed a few kommandos. The Kommandos then had to make a break test because they lost 25%+ of their unit in a turn, and then they broke and ran! It was hilarious.

So both of our elite infiltrating close combat units ended up running scared from one another.

It is sort of how I would expect Scooby and Shaggy would handle the assault phase in 40K.

Sounds about right.

I think my funniest ork related story was when I was picking off a Weird Boy with Eldar Pathfinders. They were still sadly primer black and the ork player managed to forget they were perched on top of the tallest building in the middle of the table. They actually didn't kill him, the pearls of the warp after their shots did though. Not terribly weird, but I did get a laugh when he remembered they were right there where he was looking. Should have left them black.

I did have another game with my Dark Angels versus Space Marines in which a captain on a bike nuked himself and his buddies with an orbital strike. Weird part is it was a great idea, he just got the worst drift possible in the most ironic direction he could. I think I won but that was just odd enough it didn't matter anymore.

I charged 1 Nob with Lysander and 3 assault terms, he killed one guy, I missed all my attacks but one, then rolled a one to wound. Next round he killed one more guy and I missed all my attacks again.... Next round his warboss arrived and swept house.. I cried in my sleep that night

Hate to be a buzzkill, but Dark Eldar vehicles cannot tank shock. The tank shock description is on page 68 of the BRB, under the tank entry. Otherwise it would be around page 57 where it describes vehicles moving. Dark Eldar vehicles are not tanks, though they can ram because the Shock Prow says they can.

Furthermore, if you table your opponent, you win. Complete Annihilation always wins, regardless of kill points either side has earned, or objectives held. If you killed every model your opponent had, you won.

Kill point games always make me laugh, my uncle and I stopped playing them, it just got silky when at the end of a tame he had killed 5 kill points and I had 6 models left but I had killed 6 and he still had around 40 left, yet I won?

Dark eldar can tank shock if they have a shock prow a cheap upgrade.
As for weird my orks are getting a rep for sharp shooting, the dread generally hits with it's Rockets my lootas roll low for amount and hit with most shots in my last game with them 7 in the squad 7 shots 5 hits and a dead storm raven from 3 pens very strange.

Dan, I assume that the Tabling happened pre-Ever Living rolls, and was undone.

Well, the funniest thing that ever happened to me was I had a vindicare assassin alone in a building, assaulted by a Wolf lord and his retinue. They managed to do no harm to the Assassin, and the assassin proceeded to get one wound on the retinue, break it, and then proceeded to escort them off the board. It was in an 'ard boyz, and he was quite incensed, as it lost him the game.
