Default Chaos Question

Hi

Very simple question, but I seem to be missing the obvious... can you mix Chaos SM and Chaos Demons in an army, or are they two distinctly different armies?

thanks

If zombies are squishy enough to have bits fall off and be killed by knives to the head and so on, how come their teeth are strong enough to rip humans apart? It's not easy, go on try on your arm - and you probably aren't even a rotting corpse.

Two totally different armies. Two separate codices.

There are 'summoned' greater and lesser daemons in the current chaos marines codex, but they don't share the stats or abilities of the Chaos Daemons codex daemons. You would use the same models to represent them, but in Codex Chaos marines they're all treated identically.

Some of that might be changing with the chaos codex rumored to be out later this year, but who knows.

They are separate armies with separate rules. I actually used to play them combined, getting my opponents consent first. It was really fun to play them that way.

"There is a cancer eating at the Imperium. With each decade it advances deeper, leaving drained, dead worlds in its wake. This horror, this abomination, has though and purpose which functions on an unimaginable, galactic scale and all we can do is try to stop the swarms of bio-engineered monsters it unleashes upon us by instinct. We have given the horror a name to salve our fears; we call it the Tyranid race, but if it is aware of us at all, it must know us only as Prey."

BAck in 3rd Edition, Chaos was awesome. All kinds of special rules for each legion and specifically summoned daemons. But 3rd edition chaos was it's times necrons, and got nerfed :D

They seem to be heading down the right track against with 6th edition. Let's hope.

In the line of thought between the two armies, why is there such a big difference between a Chaos Marine Daemon Prince and a Chaos Daemon Daemon Prince? The Chaos Marine version seems much better/cheaper points at first glance. Am I missing something, other than one is HQ and the other is Heavy Support?

Space Marine- "This planet is ours, witch."
Eldar- "No ... This planet is theirs ..."

They are basically the same only the Daemons one gets more upgrades and doesn't have a 3+ save to start with, but is cheaper accordingly.
