Orky Death Race

First time I saw the recent re-make of the film "Death Race" I thought "Orky ideas!"

A quick surf of eBay turned up a 1/32 scale Mustang and a Camaro, and away we went. Couldn't find a pick-up, but if you've seen the film then you'll know the "Deadnought". Hold that thought .....

These kits are Hornby branded, but there are others. Monogram did some cars in this scale, but they're hard to find now. The plastic in these turned out to be hard to glue, and I had to resort to EMA Plastic Weld after bits kept falling off using normal poly.

Most of the rest you can see from the pics. Bitz cannibalised from other Ork and 40K models. There are 2 crew figures inside each. Rivittz are mostly cut-down brass model railway track pins (the black ones), with the rest (the grey ones) being Grandt Line plastic mouldings.

The pins are a much cheaper option where you can use them. I use "Peco" brand SL14 pins: these will run you 1.10 - 1.60 a pack depending on source. Grandt Line are about 2,75 a pack, and you get less. But they are easier to use.

For game play I guess these would Count As War Buggies.

'Death Race 2000' is what I thought of when I saw these. They are going to be cherry red, right? Wink
