Ork Blokk Smasha

Converted from a "Trumpeter" brand 1/35 scale Chinese Type 89 tank destroyer. Inspired by a model I saw in the Ork gallery on this site. Lots of extra plasticard armour and tons of bolts and rivets, plus other bits and pieces.

Bolt heads are mostly Grandt Line plastic products: SB Models are the UK agent for these brilliant bits. Rivet heads this time are mostly cut-down "Peco" brand "SL14" N guage model railway track pins : cheaper than Grandt Line, but hugely more tedious to use. I've also been experimenting with making my own bolt heads and nuts from slices of Plastruct hex-section plastic rod. Again, this is tedious and consistency is difficult.

Tracks aren't fixed and tensioned yet to ease painting, so they look a bit loose. Engine decks replaced with mesh to show engine detail - kit parts plus detailing.

Shells are Lion Roar 210mm Nebelwerfer rockets, 1/35 scale again. They're just the right size for Ork Kannons. You can usually pick them up on eBay for about 5 for a set of 5.

Crew figs (L-R) are driver, grot mechanic, gunner, loader and commander. Grot's compartment behind driver is almost completely hidden by turret. Gunner and loader sit on turret seats. Loader is feeding a shell from the racks. Commander sits on the top rear of the turret and has a chain seat belt

Nice Work.
The information you have added to the picture is going to be very useful to me as I am about to embark on a pretty large set of Orkie projects soon.
