(I think I am at 1480)

Ya it's spammy but I am doing it because I just really like the models.

Most think vehicles are dead but the wave serpents to me stand out as being quite an amazing piece of machinery. So basically first turn they go flat out and fire off their bright lances in hopes to minimize the opponents heavy support. They now have a save from going flat out and if it fails they have the 2+ serpent shield.

I also have the wraith lords in the back laying down more anti tank fire as my focus is to mitigate the enemies larger guns as mobility. Then from there everything should be able to pop out of its boats and keep firing while the lords march up the field and can engage in cc if needed to.

This list is bad against hordes but I think if I can mitigate mobility and focus fire I should be able to manage. Dropping the shields for the str 7 blasts are not a bad option ether if need be.

The list is not model heavy which was part of the plan but any possible minor tweaks or maybe some strategy suggestions in regards to execution would be cool.

Thanks,
Chaosftw

Hmm... Without making major changes to the list, have you considered bringing Scatter Laser+Shuriken Cannon on your Wave Serpents? That's basically 7 S6 TL shots per car, plus the option for dropping the Serpent Shield. Seems pretty heinous. Also, it helps you down infantry better, and is less wasteful, considering you already have wraithcannons and wraithlords kit to open heavy armour.

He's right, I ran my own version of a Wraith-tastic list Saturday at 1750pts. The four Wave Serpents were equipped with Scatter Lasers and Shuriken Cannons. They performed more than admirably at hunting down light vehicles and infantry than I would have expected. Getting around cover saves is a fantastic little buff. I had Holo-Fields on mine instead of Ghost Walk, and it paid off more than once. The Ghost Walk nearly seems a waste on them unless you intend to jump from tree to tree. Even then I'd consider the cost too high for the relatively low risk of rolling a 1.

The Lords and Guard should prove to be sufficient heavy unit killers. Maybe consider Starcannons instead of Scatter Lasers on the first Lord. With the changes to the Serpents the anti infantry will be mitigated and a bit of cheaper AP 2 help out quite a bit.

Alright so after the comments I have changed it up.

Spirit seer
W/ shard of anaris
110

Wraith guard x5
Transport:
Wave serpent
W/ Scatter Laser
W/ Holo-Fields
290

Wraith guard x5
Transport:
Wave serpent
W/ Scatter Laser
W/ Holo-Fields
290

Wraith guard x5
Transport:
Wave serpent
W/ Scatter Laser
W/ Holo-Fields
290

Wraith lord
W/ ghost glave
W/ Bright Lance x2
165

Wraith lord
W/ ghost glave
W/ bright lance x2
165

Wraith lord
W/ ghost glave
W/ bright lance x2
165

So my Lord's will be the Anti-tank until I need to drop my troops. They will also serve as my CC units IF need be as they advance up the board.

Thanks for the comments.

Drop the shard and use the points to upgrade the Waveserpents Catapults to Shurrican Cannons. The point of taking the scatter lasers is that it will make the shurrican cannons Twin-linked if any of the scatter laser shots hit. That should leave you with ~35 points left to buy another... wraithguard for one of the units I guess.

I really wish you had enough points to take D-scythes in this list. They make a lot more sense when you have 3 tank-busting Warithlords. I would actually suggest dropping one of the wraithguard squads to do this. Maybe have a walking wraithguard unit to camp on an objective? So here is the breakdown:

Spirit Seer
70

5 Wraithguard (D-scythes)
Waveserpent (TL scatter laser, Shurrican Cannon, Holofield)
355

5 Wraithguard (D-scythes)
Waveserpent (TL scatter laser, Shurrican Cannon, Holofield)
355

7 Wraithguard (Wraithcannons)
224

Wraith lord (2x Bright Lance, Ghostglave)
165

Wraith lord (2x Bright Lance, Ghostglave)
165

Wraith lord (2x Bright Lance, Ghostglave)
165

I'm pretty sure that puts the list at 1499pts, I'm not sure if all the points values are 100% though.

Spirit Seer can go with any of the Wraithguard units depending on what power you roll/run with.

The Wraithlords pop vehicles, the D-scythe wraithguard lay their distort templates on any infantry groups. Waveserpents target light vehicles or other infantry units or focus fire on the unit the D-scythes hit to clean up any survivors. Spirit Seer can ride in one of the Waveserpents and designate his "Spirit Mark" on a tank to make sure your Wraithlords have a better chance to hit. The large unit of Wraithguard on foot can either advance with the Wraithlords OR hold up on a back objective.

I think this is the best option for what you are trying to achieve.

Math is wrong mate,

The list would have to look like this:

Spirit Seer
70

5 Wraithguard (D-scythes)
Waveserpent (TL scatter laser, Shurrican Cannon, Holofield)
360

5 Wraithguard (D-scythes)
Waveserpent (TL scatter laser, Shurrican Cannon, Holofield)
360

6 Wraithguard (Wraithcannons)
192

Wraith lord (2x Bright Lance, Ghostglave)
165

Wraith lord (2x Bright Lance, Ghostglave)
165

Wraith lord (2x Bright Lance, Ghostglave)
165

Totalling 1,477 points

With the extra 23 points I could change out one of the Wratihlords brightlances for ML's which would round me out at 1,497 points. However I don't really feel that the gun swap is that much better if at all better..

Meh, it was close. I still like the list a lot better this way.

I don't have a dex with me, so just for reference, how many points is a stock Waveserpent?

I'm a little split on the EML. They might be a good option to keep things versatile in-case you go up against a lot of 4+ armor saves like Tau or even hordes in general. They added pinning to the S8 AP3 shot too, so that is neat. You can make Marines take pinning tests more often. I say do the upgrade and play-test the list at least 3 times before making any changes.

Wave Serpent Base is 115 points.

Ya ill make the change and play test.

But I like the list I think it will serve well against most of the guys I play with.

Thanks!

Change the 3 wraith lords for 2 wraith knights they are the same points you get more wounds, they can keep up with your wave serpents been jump infantry and have 2 STR 10 shots each. Thats my thought anyway.
