Default Slums of Commorragh 1850 List

This is re-vamped DE list. C&C welcomed.

Baron Sathonyx
3x Haemonculi w/ 3x Liquifier Guns, Venom Blade

13x Hellions w/Helliarch, Agonizer
13x Hellions w/Helliarch, Agonizer. PGL
13x Hellions w/Helliarch, Agonizer. PGL
7x Wracks w/ Liquifier Gun
Raider w/Flickerfield, Enhanced Eathersails
7x Wracks w/ Liquifier Gun
Raider w/Flickerfield, Enhanced Eathersails

Ravager w/Flickerfield
Ravager w/Flickerfield
Voidraven w/Flickerfield, 4 Shatterfield Missiles

This army completely relies on speed and being able to hug some type cover. I've been using "Divide and Conquer" or "Circle the Wagon" type strategies with it so far. Either taking on my enemy's units by ganging up on them, or maaging to get a sort of semicircle around units and pummeling them with Splinter fire and and combined assaults, in most cases using H&R to pull the Hellions out and whittle down another unit, until I can gang up on them again.

Thoughts?

Where does the third haemonculi go? I assume you have 1 riding with each of the Wrack squads.

Ravagers are better than Void Ravens, mathematically speaking, so unless you have another reason for taking it, I'd just grab another Ravager and save some points. That would let you max out the Wracks to 9 men each with some points left over for maybe a hellion or two.

90% of people think they are above average.

Statistically Improbable. Psychologically Inevitable.

Each Hellion squad starts with a Haemy. Then 2 go with 1 unit of Wracks and 1 with the other. Yeah, I know Ravagers are "mathematically" better, but not by much. And the Voidraven gives me some infantry softening power, that the Ravager can't.

After running a couple of games with that list, i think I may need a bit more cc punch. So I'm gonna try this one out.

Baron Sathonyx
3x Haemonculi w/ 3x Liquifier Guns,
Scissorhand, Animus Vitae

6x Incubi
Raider w/Flickerfield

13x Hellions w/Helliarch, Agonizer
13x Hellions w/Helliarch, Agonizer. PGL
13x Hellions w/Helliarch, Agonizer. PGL
8x Wracks w/ Liquifier Gun, Acrothyst w/Venom Blade
Raider w/Flickerfield

Ravager w/Flickerfield
Ravager w/Flickerfield
Voidraven w/Flickerfield, 4 Shatterfield Missiles

Have you considered a Fighter instead? I think that Ravens will get targeted very quickly, and may only have a chance to shoot once - which is a waste of either the missiles or the lances, whichever way you look at it. The fighter would save you 40 points at the cost of -1S on the lances, if you wanted a couple more Incubi. Alternatively if you felt that 2x Ravagers and 2x Raiders were enough anti tank then you could swap out the Lances for Dissies, grab a Cannon upgrade and have yourself a barrel of laughs Deep Striking the fighter...

The Raven is not a bad choice, it's just not my personal preference!

Yeah, I'm actually gonna run the list with Razorwing too. That way I'll be able to decide which I prefer as i really like them both.

I would normally say that you should switch out the Voidraven with a Razorwing if your going for some troops killing, especially since you dont have to pay for the extra points to make the Razorwing anti-troop since it already is stocked with missiles and you can switch out the DLs with Dizzies.

BUT since you have just 2 Ravagers and 1-2 Raiders depending on which build u use, I think you kind of need the VL shots from the Voidraven.

Although see if you can make a list with a Razorwing and some Trueborn with blasters in Venoms. By doing that you might have to lesson the amount of guys in each squad of your troops.

BTW, the Incubi just doesnt seem to fit in your list for some reason.

Lol, yeah the Incubi are kinda outta place. My fluff reasons for bringing them, is that onw of the trio of Haemys hired them as her bodyguard, simple enough. In game terms, after playing with just Hellions and Wracks, I wanted at least a small unit of heavy hitters.

Both builds have 2 Raiders. But the Trueborn tank hunter type squad is definately what i'll try to fit in if i go with a Razorwing.

I figured that was thier job in your list. I just opted to go with 3 haemys to get FnP on the Hellions squads, it has served me very well.
