Heroic last stand

Basically the rules are:

defending army has one end of the board and as many barricades and terrain bits as possible.

Attackers have 2x larger force and must break through the barricades and destroy the defenders.

SPECIAL RULES
Light of terra (marines and guard only)
when activated, every marine/guardsman gains +1ws (+2ws for guardsmen) and +1attack.

Awakening of the tomb (necrons only)
when activated, necron defender can bring back 1d6 necron warriors every turn. Follow deep strike rules.

Craftworld song (eldar only)
when activated all eldar gain +2ws and +1attack

Fires of the warp (chaos and daemons only)
using a large blast template, indicate where a column of fire will shoot from the earth. roll 1d6 and a scatter dice. All units in the affected area take strength 7 ap 3 hits. saves apply as normal.

Ethereal's blessing (tau only)
all tau gain +2ws and +1attack

apply these only to defenders.

Nifty, but (Just throwing this out, ignore me if you want to) Say the defender gets only one HQ choice and thats it?

i must say, which may be biased, but i think this scenario may be the best.....one cuz i love these kind of things....me being a SM amry, I always feel out numbered against every other army and i just built some new Defensive type terrain. I'll definitely be trying this one out

question though....when and how are these abilities activated? Roll of D6 on any turn or just whenever i feel like it using it?

yeah, but shouldn't the defender get something like 500-750 less points for the pretty bonuses?

Blueberry coffee tastes as good as it sounds.

Should not the tau get an increase to thier BS. Also interesting concept.

So it would seem that the Tyranids are going to be the prime target for being the attackers. That's another thing, with all these special rules is there anything for the attackers? Like for my Nids, no need for Instinctual Behavior. Also a way to make WoN more effective since they die easily, like spawn points that have to be reached to activate, openings from spawning pools on the hive ship bury in the planets crust. I could see this turning into some of the old Imperial history from when they first encountered the Hive Fleet. I remember a story from when Behemoth decended onto a SM outpost and a hand full of terminators stood against the horde down to their very last one, able to stave off the swarms but costing their own lives.
