Default Fallen Blood Angels

Hey guys, first time posting a list here but long time Chaos Player.

My list is loosely based upon the contingent of Blood Angels that departed from the chapter at the end of the Deus Sanguinius book. Fluff behind it is that Arkio (blood angel corrupted by chaos in the books) survived via extensive surgery (a la Huron Blackheart) and managed to rally some of the other deserters around him. There is more to it but the previous quick summary will suffice. The list is as follows:

Chaos Lord Arkio 160 pts
- wings, daemon weapon, mark of khorne

Chaos Sorcerer Iscariot 145 pts
- warptime, jump pack

Squad Penitence (10 Chaos Marines) 285 pts
- Icon of Chaos Glory, flamer, lascannon, aspiring champion with plasma pistol and power weapon, rhino with daemonic possession

Squad Piety (10 Chaos Marines) 285 pts
- Icon of Chaos Glory, flamer, lascannon, aspiring champion with plasma pistol and power weapon, rhino with daemonic possession

Skull Company (10 Khorne Berserkers) 305 pts
- skull champion with power fist, rhino with daemonic possession

Arkio's Honoured (9 Chaos Raptors) 260 pts
- aspiring champion with power fist, icon of khorne, meltagun

Iscariot's Honoured (9 Chaos Raptors) 260 pts
- aspiring champion with paired lightning claws, icon of khorne, meltagun

Cult of Mayhem (2 obliterators) 150 pts

Let me know what you think! The plan is for the Berserkers and Raptors to surge ahead whilst the lascannon squads take a couple of shots to disable enemy tanks & APCs early on, providing infantry targets for the melee squads. After that they claim nearby objectives and hold them. As well, I know the plasma pistols on the champs are a small waste of points but they look cool on the models.

I'll leave tactical commentary to those who actually play chaos, but from a fluff point-of-view, it looks good to me. I run a renegade BA list to, only I use the BA codex to do it (black berzerkers for the Death Company etc), and this looks pretty good. It doesn't look too "chaos-y", it's easy to see that it can represent a force 'going over' to chaos but not completely seperated from the old organisational forms.

In other words, nice one!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

@ Red Orc: Thanks, the force just going over is the motif I was going for, most of the models used are a combination of imperial and chaos models (the oblits for example are techmarines). As well I'm using Khorne berserkers painted black as a "death company" and it's nice to know they'll turn out looking good.

@ CyDon: What would you suggest I do with the extra 5 points if I do drop possession off of the rhinos? I did used to have plasma guns in the marine squads instead of the lascannons but there are quite a few mechanized lists in my area. In the few test games I've played with the change I've found them more useful (there are a fair number of Leman Russ', Exorcists and Monoliths in my gaming area).

not bad, I like the use of of obliterators as renegade techmarines.

Do you plan on using obliterator models, or are you going to convert techmarine models to represent the obliterators?

I use converted techmarines. The full servo harness has the guns swapped out to match obliterator weapon options, with the right arm carrying the plasma cannon and right arm bearing a power fist (the chaos one of course) and then they are plunked on 40mm bases. The conversions look pretty sweet, though it was a pain in the @$$ to bring them from the 3.5 versions to 4th.

Any chance you could post a picture of one of these in the Gallery?
