In the future, only mention what you paid extra points for wargear wise, the mods do not like it when the post reads like a army list entry in a codex. Forexample, since they are standard, ther is no need to mention the searchlight or smoke launchers on your predators. alsp, preds cannot have tl autocannons, either tl lascannons, or a single autocannon.

the only pther comment is to ask, why rhinos? why three preds with sponsons? takr the points from the sponson weapons and the rhinos and add more plague marines to each squad, the squads can run, and with the extra 12 points per squad, there will be enough to add another couple of plague marines. just my thoughts here

the sponsons are so i have lascanons in the army. rhinos are a must in the new rules if you havnt read them yet the rhino is extremly versatile and tough and is faster than running and for the points cost is far better than 2 more plague marines.

I agree rhinos are pretty darn useful, but I don't think they are a must at all. I've had great success using rhinos and not using them and just running and using cover. It really just depends on how the board is set up in all honesty.

other than the fact that you haven't addressed the issue with the preads main weapon its a nice list. The pred starts with a "turret mounted" auto cannon or upgrade it to a twin linked lascannon. Those are the only choices unless you have some modified house rule.

Skad is right, they aren't necessary, I have not used any since I started playing death guard. The new rules allow for very generous cover saves, and the expected value for distance when you take advantage of the run rule is only 2.5 inches less than that of the rhino, 4.5 if you add in the 2 inch deployment. plague marines don't want to assault, as they are better being assaulted (blight grenades) The trick is to pick cover near objectives, run towards it, and stay in it until the last turn or two.

The death guard do not need transports. In fact, they are a bad idea in any force smaller than 2k points, because there will not be enough troops to last the entire battle. In my 1750 lpoint list, I have 49 models, five of which are termies, and two others are my lord, and my dread. This is where you will want to be in these size battles, as you need to keep your forces as close in numbers to your opponent.

since play testing the force by boroing a friends death gurard i have come to the conclusion that it works rather well. the rhinos do help alot as it tends to be tougher than the extra 2 plague marines i would get for the points and gives me the mobile fire base i need. as i dont allways deploy in rhinos soom times they just make a good wall that can move. the lord works aslong as he is allways deepstriked close to the plague marines and teh predators work effeciantly afor the points cost which is not much if you think about it. still thanks for all your advice on making this army list and will take some of the later comments into concideration when making a 2000pnt list once i have completed painting this force.
