Default 1500 points all comers

Hey, I started building my army a while back and after looking through a lot of material and seeing what other people are doing I've finally settled on what I'd like to build towards so I'm looking for feedback, no matter how brutal, to figure out what needs improving.

145 - Lord on bike with MoS
LC & Burning Brand of Skrillex (Yes, I know it's Skalathrax but whenever I read it I read it my way)

245 - 10 CSM with MoS
Flamer + Melta
Icon of Excess
Rhino with DC

234 - 10 Noise Marines
8 Sonic Blasters
1 Blastmaster

50 - 10 Cultists

155 - 5 Raptors with MoS
2x Melta gun
2x LC on the Champion

231 - 8 Bikers with MoS
2x Plasma gun
Icon of Excess

170 - Heldrake with Baleflamer

175 - Forgefiend

100 - Aegis Defence line with Quad Gun

Hopefully I added it all up correctly and it comes to 1500 points

Plan of action is lord is delivered into the heart of the enemy by the biker squad backed up by the CSM in the rhino - they're a pretty much jack of all trades unit that can cover most roles as needed. Raptors pop armour. Noise marines sit on the defence line with the champion manning the quad gun. Cultists come in from reserve to sit on a home objective and the Heldrake and Forgefiend just generally cause havoc.

I'm not going for super-competitive and I rarely play games at all to be honest but when I do I like to give people a run for their money so any suggestions of bettering the list would be appreciated.

Edit: Just realised I'm 5 points over - Had the lord at 60 points basic for some reason rather than the 65 he really is... Any help trimming it down would be appreciated xD

To be honest I'm not a fan of the raptors. A pair of meltas is always good but you have too few bodies, and the dual claws really bumps up their price. You could drop both claws and gain a body or two if enough points are removed.
Give your basic marines both the same weapon, maybe 2 meltas. Dropping the caster from their rhino will free up some points too.
I'm going to get flak for this but I'm not overly sold on the icon of excess. FnP is great but not 30plus points great. Plus it buys you more bodies and frees up points.
Your noise marines can take one more blast master if you feel the desire. FaQed to 2 for a 10man squad, 1 for 5-9
Hope this helps!

Cheers for the feedback

I noticed the FAQ update today actually and have been thinking about the 2x blastmaster point. Funny thing is I'm not a fan of the noise marine models so wasn't really planning on using them at all but the idea just grew on me.

I would give my CSM's the same special weapon if I had the models - unfortunately that's gonna have to wait until I get a second unit which will be either in place of the noise marines if I decide not to go down that route afterall or when I'm working towards 2k points. I know it's "substandard" but the flamer suits the fact they're all CCW/Bolter and the melta is more of a "just on case" insurance kinda thing.
As for the IoE - I might remove it on these guys just to free up some points for other goodies but I still think it's awesome on the bikers.

Raptors are really one of those contested kind of units, some people really don't like them. I know bikers are only 3 points more and technically bring more utility to the table but I actually really like the raptor models and in fact already have that unit built so they're one of the things I plan to keep

As for other changes I'm also tempted to swap the forgefiend out for a las-sponson pred which leaves about 90 points spare if I also take the IoE out of the CSM unit - any idea's what the best way to spend 90 points would be on this list?

If your CSM unit is there for anti infantry, you might be better off using 10 noise marines with a doom siren, 4 or 5 sonic blasters and melta bombs. You''ll do the same job as the CSM but you'll have a heavy flamer, rapid fire bolters ignoring cover on the move (3 if you arent moving) and something to blast a tank when you charge it. Don't have my codex on me, but it seems like a viable way to bolster that CSM squad.

Also, raptors.... I do like raptors myself, but the loadout you've given these guys seems... odd.
Give them melta guns for sure, or even 1 melta gun and bombs. The LCs aren't really doing much. If you're going LCs on your champion, you might aswell go Warptalons, as they will do everything your champion will do but on a massive scale. Keep your squads to doing 1 job (or armed with bombs incase something goes awry).

The true nature of Chaos is beyond any comprehension. No mere mortal can ever hope to understand these matters, and the wise do not puzzle too deeply over Chaos Gods, or try to fathom their wars, rivalries and bickerings.

Yeah the plan with the raptors was to have bombs too, I just liked the idea of being able to do some real damage in combat if it came down to it - my champion also looks awesome ;)

Apart from changing a few weapons around and maybe taking more noise marines are there any glaring problems with the list? I'm pretty sure I can deal with most unit types to some degree and the area I play in is really not that competitive. Not many of the guys play tournament lists so being completely points efficient isn't that big of a deal - as long as I won't get consistently tabled I'm happy.

There is nothing wrong with Raptors. Give the guy a break he said he wasn't looking for a competitive list...They work fine in fun with an eye to win lists.

That said, I do kinda agree with the above comments: You would probably be better off taking a Raptor squad that is more focused in it's role rather than trying to be a jack of all trades. If you want them to assault then I would say run them in squads of 10+ with MoS or MoK and maybe an Icon, a flamer or two and an optional power sword for the champion. Small squads of 5 probably wont be very effective in assault.
With the meltaguns you are gearing them towards anti-tank hunters. So I would just drop those lightning claws: It's highly unlikely they will actually be used before being shot in such a small squad, so seem a bit pointless even in a fun list. Unless you just like the ascetics of lightning claws or something...

Icon of Excess is amazing on Chaos Bikers. Good choice there. I use the same squad with plasma. T5, jink saves, FNP, plasma shots and relentless is a sweet little package, one of the best units/loadouts in the codex in my opinion. Played them in 10 or games so far and they have never disappointed me.

With that last comment about raptors in mind do you think it would be worth cutting a few points from somewhere (like swapping the forgefiend for a pred and removing the IoE from the CSMs) and bumping the raptors to 10? I'd keep the same loadout (mostly because I've already built them based on looks ;) ) but add in 5 more bodies and add melta bombs to the champ.

That way they're still a threat to tanks and can easily hold their own in most combats barring specialised CC troops and probably hordes - Although with MoS they're going to be striking ahead of most things I'd come across (not so many Eldar or DE where I play, or at least not when I was there last) so maybe they would manage against hordes - especially if I hit with HoW attacks too!

Other than the raptors, so you think there's good synergy between the units? Would it be balanced enough to take on most non-cheese armies?
