Default 2000 CSM w/Tau Allies

If I had Orks I would probably choose them as allies, but I have Tau, Crons and Nids, so Tau it is.

HQ:

2x Daemon Prince w/Wings, MoS, Lash (Switch out Lashes for Telepathy/Telekinesis)

Troops:

7x Berzerkers w/Skull Champ, PWeap, Melta Bombs, Rhino
7x Berzerkers w/Skull Champ, PWeap, Melta Bombs, Rhino
5x PMs w/Champ, PFist, 2x Plasmaguns, Rhino
5x PMs w/Champ, PFist, 2x Plasmaguns, Rhino

Heavy Support:

2x Oblits
2x Oblits
2x Oblits

Tau:

HQ: Shas'el w/ TL MPs, Flamer

Elites: 2x Crisis Suits w/ TL MPs, Flamer (Cheap and flexible)

Troops: 6x Firewarriors

Heavy Support: 2x Broadsides w/ ASS, Team Leader w/ HW TL (So I can target two different units with railguns)

I still think Orks would work much better with CSMs. And of course this list will look much different with the new codex. This is just to try out 6th edition rules until then. Trying to keep Tau as cheap as possible to get broadsides. Maybe even drop the crisis suits for another BS.

Better to put MoT on princes in order to roll two powers each? Better to take a squad or two of Tsons to get more psykers on the table?

What do we think about the different allies for CSM? Guard? Daemons? DE? Necrons?

Cheers,
Z

Remember we actually need to pay for our Powersso tzeentch is not the best way to go. I would drop he suits for a broadside but you already have enough tank popping. I would recommend taking fusion on the suits, just to get some short ranged anti-walker going on.

Lasguns- You can never have too little firepower

Thanks for the reply. Is it worth paying for the extra power so that each can roll for two powers?

I'd just like to point out that Target lock has been removed via FAQs, so no split firing unfortunately

No. Also if you're going to just swap out your power for a Rulebook Power then there's no need to spend the points getting Lash of Submission. Drop the Mark of Slaanesh and get Doombolt. That will save you 15 points.
