Default new player 1000pt

I have being playing fantasy deamons for a while now and have turned my eye to the 40k deamons. in fantasy when you play deamons people moan about how over powered they are but in 40k I only hear how good the deamon princes and plaugebearers are but they seem to be mid field. I plan to use what I have already.

bloodthirster
two headed lord of change
skulltaker

18 damonettes
1 icons (damonettes)
1 champions (damonettes)
1 musicions (damonettes)

24 normal bloodletters
2 icons (bloodletters)
2 champions (bloodletters)
2 musicions (bloodletters)

5 pink horrors

10 flesh hounds

this is what I thought would be best

Bloodthirster 270pts
Unholy Might

15x Daemonettes -210

10 x Bloodletters 185
Icon

10 x Bloodletters 185

Flesh Hounds and Daemonettes aren't as good as they appear to be (I wonder if they do at all though). Considering the models you have, I think that you should drop the Daemonettes and the Flesh Hounds and get Fateweaver, the two-headed LoC and spend the remaining points on more Bloodletters.

In terms of army expansion I'd go for Bloodcrushers for sure, and depending on your play style/god preferance, Horrors, Bloodletters, Daemon Princes OR Grinders (I'm a fan of the latter) and Flamers.

The fool, the coward, and the ignorant proclaim that the warp is a realm of unknowable peril and indescribable terror, that it is the hell of countless ancient myths and legends. This is a lie, told by those whose authority is based on lies, to keep the masses terrified of the unknown. The warp is limitless power and its secrets are infinite; it is knowledge and strength, life and death, and the untapped potential to make and remake worlds. It takes only the discipline and the will to shape it; those who lack that clarity of purpose are liable to be shaped by it instead.

Good solid HQ choice, the bloodthirster is an absolute beast. For points sake and I notice a complete lack of shooting in this army; I would consider a Herald of Tzeentch with Chariot, BoT, Icon, We are legion and Master of Sorcery for a mere 135 points. If you are unwilling/unable to do this, the bloodthirster is, as I said, an absolute beast.

I would drop the Flesh hounds and one squad of bloodletters for some Horrors (with changling) and PBs (with an icon). The shooting and the fact that PBs are difficult to kill allows you to sit on a hostile objective and keep an icon of the front lines for a few turns atleast. Daemonettes are ok for melee hordes and bloodletters are ok for fighting things with decent armor, but I find both to be pleh unless used correctly, which is difficult to do.

Your army lacks shooting in its entirety and any moble army will shoot you to oblivion. With the points saved on the HQ, you could easily squeeze a SG into the army withthe Phlegm upgrade, giving you a pie plate to shoot with
