Default newbie 1st list help

Hello all.

Ive been painting for roughly 3 or 4 months now and need to start putting a list together to play.
like the title says im very green. Hoping for lots of input. I will list what I currently have to work with.
Please lmk if I need to make additions as I want my purchases to count.

I have a good mix of daemons and cms. Planned on going with the iron warriors theam cms but after picking up IA 13
looks like going renegade will open up quite a bit of air support and heavy artillery. Lmk your thoughts.

Probably the best question I could ask is if this was what you had to work with how would you run them and what would you add? I know im light on the air support.

If you wanted to go with an Iron Warriors theme, then you should probably go with a warpsmith as your CSM HQ and a few Daemon Engines in your army like Forgefiends and Maulerfiends. If you wanted to be competitive, I would recommend a few Obliterators with the mark of nurgle. If you got those, you could theme you army as iron warriors/nurgle daemon alliance which could be interesting models-wise, and competitive games-wise. Daemon allies with a great unclean one and plaguebearers are good a keeping objectives and plague bearers can destroy light tanks with their plageswords. If the daemon prince is nurgle, thats good. If it isn't, then you should get one. Daemon princes with a 2+ cover save in ruins or with wings is very good. To make it even stronger give it a few psyker levels and roll on biomancy hoping for iron arm. Then for troops you already have plague marines, put them in a rhino and they become a decent unit. From their you can expand your army. Hope this helped.

Think i would go for a deamon army, with CSM allies, as you seem to have more deadom stuff.

If you do, 2 cheap boxes of direwolves or chaos hounds are a good investment as flesthounds.

with those, and the rest of your deamons, you have a good base.

Not optimal, competivly, but fine.

for your warlord, the deamon price, nurgle, or the GOU are both very good.

Your problem in the CSM department, is that a chaos lord or sorcerer on foot is.... disapointing... to say the least. they never get where you want them.

you could go khorne lord with berserkers in land raider. thats expensive, but dangerous.
