Default Themed Painting Session 5

Ok folks, this session of Themed Painting has now begun and our current winner is The Son of Horus which entitled him to choose our new topic which is:

SciFi Single Miniature.

This session of Themed Painting will begin now and go until September 30th. Please take the time to view the Themed Painting Rules before you enter a model. Good luck and lets gets those entries going. More details will follow but there is going to be a VERY cool prize this time around folks . Bear in mind that this prize WILL require a proof pic of you holding the mini in front of the pc with a current thread on Heresy in the background as we can't have models entered that don't belong to those who posted them. Keep an eye out for more details here.

Again, this session's topic is: SCIFI SINGLE MINIATURE. One entry per person please.

MODERATORS NOTE: ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS CONTEST SHOULD BE SENT TO ME VIA PM, NOT POSED IN THIS THREAD. PLEASE LEAVE THIS THREAD FOR THE PICS, COMMENTS, AND SUCH, NOT A TON OF QUESTIONS.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

Ok I have just confirmed it and Bits and Kits are officially supporting this session of the contest. The winner of this contest will receive the battleforce/battalion of their choice, shipped anywhere in the world. That's right a full battleforce is up for grabs folks.

In the event of a tie we will have a further round of voting between the leaders until a single entry is chosen unanimously. This contest is open to anyone who enters and again keep in mind that that this prize WILL require a proof pic of you holding the mini in front of the pc with a current thread on Heresy in the background as we can't have models entered that don't belong to those who posted them.

Yep! Unless something's changed, there's not a "Sci-Fi Large Model" category, so a monstrous creature should be fair game. It's Wraith's call, but I'd assume it's fine.

*sigh* What to paint, what to paint... Out of principle, I don't think I should be able to win, since I'm a staff member and there's product as a prize... it's sort of like winning your own contest... but I'll still paint something anyway. Maybe I'll try my hand at converting a Dark Eldar that looks like the new artwork in the 5th Edition Rulebook, and painting it with that sort of shadowed effect that you see occasionally in the Golden Daemon entries. hummm...

Now just to wait for the new SM codex so I can make my 'counts as' special character of choice and get that guy ready to go.

Just like to say 'Thanks' to Bits and Kits for stepping forward so generously. Kudos.

Does it matter if we painted it ages ago? I ask because I have a sergeant I like but it was painted months ago
As long as you painted it and have a pic of it in front of Heresy Online then you can use it.

SoH is correct, ANY non vehicle model from the 40K universe is allowed.

I would say that is probably a class of its own, mounted rather than single mini.
