deep striking landraider??

This is my current thought, (blood angels codex):

2 stormravens with locator beacons ( filled with whatever assaulty goodness you like and furioso's ) moving at enemy flat out. Some backfield file support; devastators with missiles, razor with laser (containing a basic assault squad).

In reserve is a land raider redeemer ( with a basic assault squad).

hopefully cracking some transports with either MM on storms, or the dreads. Pinpoint deepstriking of raider to flame whatever, followed by the assaulty goodness of the raven if needed.

Very few troops in the build, but it sounds good to me... any thoughts?

Even flat out your likely to die quickly to a dark eldar player with his lance spam. You also are relying on the flat out to get everything you want as close as possible but it still is only a 3+ cover save and in close combat they are hit on 6's... so if they are counter assaulted by a Terminator squad you will likely lose the transport and everything within...

I see the Stormraven as more of a support unit that can transport a dread fairly close to the front lines and drop troops along the way... I'd avoid getting it up close for a while. Just my thoughts

Models in a transport vehicle are only destroyed if the vehicle is destroyed in the same player turn it moves flat out

Taken from BRB FAQ Page 5

Q: If a transport vehicle is destroyed in the same turn as it
moved flat out what happens to any embarked models? (p70)
A: They are removed as casualties.
I quite like the idea actually, something like:

Dante
Librarian w/ Jump Pack, 2 Powers

2 Dreadnought Variants
Terminator Squad w/ Land Raider

2 Squads of 10 Assault Marines
-Melta's
-Sergent w/ Fist

2x Stormravens

Dev Squad w/ ML's
Dev Squad w/ ML's
Vindicator

Might be best at 2k points or more though, I cant see it being very viable at 1750

I missed that the troops die if destroyed moving flat out.... ouch. That would hurt! But I do think its worth the risk, and gets a 50/50 cover save by going flat out.

Well, I'm going to attempt list at an 1850 level tourney in a few weeks, I don't expect to place... just to have fun.

will let you know the outcome when completed.

Unless you park your storm raven in area terrain or something that would cause a dangerous terrain test, you are not going to lose your troops and even then its only a 1/6 chance.

If they shoot you down in there shooting phase you disembark like normal for a destroyed vehicle.

It takes a pack of Wolves to tree a Lion... here is hopping the new DA codex reflects that.
