Default useful tip for scouts and storms

I found this little trick preparing for a tournament, reading the rules for open topped vehicles it says you may assault even if the vehicle moved before you disembark. The landspeeder storm is a fast vehicle with scout so you can go flat out in its scout move. I give the scouts shotguns and a power fist.

with them in the storm I go flat out so I'm within 18" of an enemy vehicle. If I get fist turn I move and assault the vehicle as it wouldn't have moved so I would auto hit it's rear armour with a power fist and krak grenades. And what makes it all the better is it's only 150 pts

Very true. A few other armies can pull out Turn 1 charges so it's worth knowing about so you can try to limit the damage they can do.

You do also run the risk of moving your Scout and then not getting the first go, so it's never a sure thing.

I run mine with a combi melta & PF, and the scouts have BP/CW so if the combi melta blows up the transport I can assault and the storm is great for the lower leadership. A HF helps to thin out the crowd as well or you can go with a Vulkan list with a MM on it.

I was pulling this off at a tournament in June, and now thanks to the FAQ its a lot less hit/miss as if you move flat out in your scout move and the enemy seizes you get a 4+ coversave.
