Default allies advice

ok I have a 3k game against space wolves next week with opponent using fw items and dual foc.

I am taking guard with chaos allies and have about 500ish points for my allies.

Basically I was wondering what to fit in; I was tempted by 10 cultists for the obligatory troops and 9 bikers with power weapon and plasma gun led by a lord on a bike with the brand of skal....thingy....the torrent flame weapon.

Does this sound like a good use of points or am I being daft?

That seems a good plan for an allied detatchment! I tend to do it the other way round, taking a Chaos Space marine force with 6 Leman Russes in an allied detachment is suitably filthy

Default Allying with Legion

I have a question, I recently bought the Legion of the Damned eBook codex and I noticed something I read that made me wonder. In the codex it reads,

"The Legion of the Damned Allies Matrix below lists the relationship between the Legion of the Damned and the FORCES (plural) they may fight alongside..."

And then it goes on to say,

"Note that the Legion of the Damned may have a different relationship to the models from an army's primary detachment, and the models that make up that army's 'regular' allied detachment (assuming there are any). For example, if the Legion of the Damned was part of an army where the primary detachment were Imperial Guard and the allied detachment were from the Eldar Craftworld, then the Legion of the Damned would treat the Guardsmen as Battle Brothers, and the Eldar as Allied of Convenience."

This raises the question, can you have Legion as elites in your army and they don't take up a secondary detachment slot in Force Organization? In other words can I run Legion as an elite choice with Dark Angels as my primary detachment and say maybe Blood Angels as my secondary detachment? Because, judging by what I read above, that's what it sounds like to me.
