Default Deep Strike & Turbo Boosting

This came up in the game I played early this evening with my Daemons.

My Screamers came in from deep strike and I wanted to turbo boost them. Another player made the argument that you can only shoot or run after deep striking, and the rules for jet bikes state that those models can not run (turbo boosting is not running per the jet bike rules).

My argument was that I turbo boost instead of shooting, and since it takes the place of my shooting attack, which is allowed after deep striking, that I can turbo boost.

Clarification or opinions anyone?

A unit that Deep Strikes can still shoot.
A jet bike can Turbo Boost instead of Shooting.

End of.
