DE Razorwing Flock issue

Hi there, i have problem: Dark Eldar Razorwing Flock is a unit of beasts - few birds on flying sticks on a 40mm round base + in most situations there are two models like that with beastmaster on skyboard (which is smth like jump pack for SM, just with two rifles built in) in unit.

My problem is: can i flying beastmaster(on skyboard) with flying beasts (birds!) move like flying unit (over edges, mountains, rough terrain) or should i move them like ordinary beasts?
There are no extra rules for moving them "special way - jump infantry like" in the Dark Eldar codex, but my way of thinking makes sense for me (if they are flying - they should fly!)

Both the beastmaster and his beasts all counts as Beasts, even if he is riding a flying surfboard..

So no jump packing over hedges,

think of it like this. though the birds may fly, and he may be on a skyboard, he has 5 birds per base to control, as such, moving around more difficult terrain would still slow him down and 'flying' as it were would require even more control. That would be the reasoning why they dont get jump pack rules. (or thats the reasoning im useing atleast)

or you can even pretend he has chains attached to the big foul beasts, so he is hampered by their movement,,

What you could question is when the last beast die, and he is all alone, does he remain a beast or becomes a jump packer =) ...

I would say stay beast though.

he stays beast, as he counts as a beast unit, ratehr then a jump infanry unit within a beast unit.

Unfortunately rules don't always follow fluff. While logically, they could fly over terrain, you would need to get your opponents agreement to do it before hand because that units rules do not allow it. Then again, as long as your opponent agrees, you can pretty much do whatever you want to do. Don't expect to try to make your beastmasters fly at a tournament though.
