Default Monolith's weapons

Im confused because in the necron codex it says on the monolith's weapons: gause flux arc (see below). but it also has the particle whip but what i want to know is are the guns on the sides of the monolith for just the gause flux arc or are they a different weapon.

As far as I know the particle whip (ST9 pie plate?) Is shot from the crystal centralised on top of the model and cannot be destroyed.
The gauss flux arc (D6 shots per unit within 12"?) are shot from the four corner weapons.

Longbeard is correct. The guns on the corners are the gauss flux arc. They are modled this way to represent their rules of firing at so many targets at once in all directions. The particle whip comes from the giant crystal.

That's correct the four guns on each corner are your gauss flux arc, and the crystal is what causes your particle whip, but I prefer the idea that it comes from the portal, imagine it blasting out of there and lacerating enemies and dragging some into it's energies obliterating them from existence......... :D

Plus it would make the explanation on why you couldn't use the teleport and the particle whip in the same turn a lot easier :D

well no, the whip takes energy. i mean it projects a concentrated beam then bends it and cracks it like a whip. hence the name particle whip. so it takes a lot of energy.

Actually, the simplest method and therefore the one the most technologically advanced race ever would use would be to project it as a massive bolt of energy. Think of an ultra-slow-motion video of a lightning bolt. First, you have the little wispy flickering thread of ionised air twisting from the target to the crystal, then, the crystal shunts several teravolts of electric energy into the ionised thread, sending it towards the other end of the ionised thread, ripping the very molecules of the air apart and causing a massive noise, before blowing up an entire squad. I'd say it'd get the name Particle Whip because of the sound like a galactic-scale whip such a phenomenon would create, and also because of the wispy thread seen before the bolt of energy. This has the effects seen in all the fluff whilst remaining within the laws of physics we all know and love.
