Default Nob Question

Hello. I'm new to the boards and 40K, but a long time wargamer.

Can a nob be singled out during an assault or do the wounds get allocated through the unit as the Ork player chooses?
I had a unit of boys with a Nob in melee with a Space Wolves mounted/cavalry type unit (gorgot what they were called). The Space Wolf player had the better initiative score and got to melee attack first. He chose to put some of his melee attacks directly onto my Nob as opposed to just attacking the unit as a whole.
Is this correct? The nob is not a individual character or unique character. I think he was incorrect.

No, he shouldn't be able to allocate wounds specifically to your nob, you are right on this one. Wounds for the unit get allocated exactly as they are for shooting, which means it's your choice which wounds get allocated to which models, the only difference in assaults is that ICs can get singled out. As the nob is not an IC, he's safe until everyone else has been assigned wounds. Show the space wolf player P39 next time, the part about allocating wounds

Only independant characters can be singled out.
A Nob is not an independant character.

unless of course it was only a 10 man squad and the wolf player caused 10 wounds can he force u 2 make a save with his n0b. even then he has 2 wounds...

As for the statement that hes a pussy in close combat... ignore that. He shreds things. Nothing with Str 10, 5 attacks that ignore invunerable saves should be called a pussy. - JackalMJ
