I don't know who he is, but if he's a special character (sounds like it) then it'll say in his entry what exactly he can be fielded with when it comes to to retinues.

If it says you can buy him a command squad, then you can. Otherwise he;s an IC on his own. And no, you cannot slip a special character in as a Squad Upgrade Character if that's what you;re thinking

Special Characters take up an HQ slot.

You can't attach more than one IC to a squad, if memory serves. So, as the Chaplain is an IC, Helbrect doesn't fit.

I could be horribly, horribly wrong though.

You can attach a Chaplain to Helbrecht's Command Squad. You can't attach Helbrecht to anything.

The w\W is next to the E, it was obviously a finger slip

Meanwhile, being that much of a jerk about one freaking typo must've taken tons more time and effort

A finger slip can't change double to dubblwe.

I'm more than willing to expend time and effort if it'll get people to calm down, slow down, and write the language of their choice to a decent level.

But they're more likely to actually listen to you if you at least try to let them know in a nice way to try a little harder.

If you just go around flaming and shaming anyone who makes a typo, not only is the poster not going to listen to you, but other posters will stop taking you seriously as well.

A double letter could be a glitchy keyboard, an accidental pause, thinking you missed a letter when you didn;t etc. (Whoops, see there? Finger slip)

Buttom line is it was an ACCIDENT

Now, if you want to ride his ass about positng intelligently, I'd suggest letting go of the accidental typo and ask him not to use the annoying netspeak that we see later in the same post

Magician, it's been mentioned to you in the past that netspeak/unnessecary abbreviations such as "u r 1" is not acceptable posting language. It's in the rules that that sort of lazy lanuage isn't allowed.

Please, please, please make an effort to make your posts worth the effort of reading them. I think if you took the time to use real words, you wouldn't get people like Uber jumping up your ass every tme you make a typo.

I don't care what anyone says to this, but DO NOT reply to a topic if your reply has nothing to do with the topic. If you have a problem with a poster directly, relating to a post, message them, suck it up, or tell a moderator. STOP posting rude flame replies instead of actual topic replies. This isn't dakka so let's try to keep it real and less maniac-serious. If they don't type according to the rules, it is not your responsibility to berate them. Tell a mod if you are unhappy, but other people don't want to see your flaming because it's thats time of the month for you.

Now, on the High Marshal, Galahad was right that it should list it under his Special Character rules. Maybe a little Bodyguard or Honor Guard entry near the bottom of his list. Maybe a fellow Black Templar player will sneak in and enlighten us if you can't fight your answer.

I do apologize for contributing to the derailment of the thread.

I'll try to get ahold of a black templars codex and check myself, but assuming BT characters work like everyone else's, the special vcharacters in the back of the book will basically take an HQ slot, just like a regular commander, chaplain, whatever. They have their own special powers, but they are more expensive, cannot be altered (It will say what, if any, wargear may be changed. Usually none) and sometimes require permission from the other player.

If a sopecial character can have a retinue, it;ll say in his entry. Special characters, regardless of their type, cannot be substituted for an upgrade character unless it syas speciffically.
