Default Rough Riders-guns

So I am making my own custom rough riders and I am looking at the wargear for them and they have the hunting lance then it says that they have a "Laspistol or close-combat weapon"
Does that mean that the only person with a laspistol is the sergeant and the rest only have a sword (after they use there lance) or do the riders also have pistols they can use prior to the charge.

Also I know for sure that the sergeant has a pistol and I asume a close combat weapon does that mean he is duel armed after using the hunting lance so he would get an extra attack then?

None of them have both a pistol and CCW, they have one or the other. The upgrade wording suggests the Sgt. has a pistol, but he doesn't also have a CCW. None of them recieve the bonus attack, because it's one or the other, not both.

Strange, but not a Stranger.

yeah that makes sense so are you saying that the regular rough riders do not have a pistol then?

they all have Pistols, which you can exchange for ccw, the seargent has the choice of switching his laspistol to ccw, plasma pistol or power weapon.

They all have either a CCW or a pistol. There is little use for having a CCW over a pistol, so I would consider them to all just have a pistol.

The main point is that they do not all have both so bever gain the bonus A for two CCWs.

Strange, but not a Stranger.

oh ok that makes sense. I guess it would be silly if you armed with them with only a ccw as it does not gain you an advantage in cc I will be arming them with pistols then. Anyone know where I can get 9 left handed laspistol arm/guns?

Just use holstered pistols, it would look silly if they all had them out.
Using a lance would take quite a bit of concentration!

And Klokk, when it says "The Sergeant may replace his pistol with" it means that if you choose to equip him with a pistol, he may replace it with.
It's just a simpler way of saying he can replace his pistol or CCW with.
It's done quite a lot in the SM codex.

For the left hands, do them holding the reins, wouldn't want to fall of that horse now!
