Default Mind Worm - instant death, eternal warrior?

Hiya

I have Ezekiel, grand master of librarians here, he has the ability:
Mind Worm. (page 39 of the DA codex.)
It states its a leadership based attack, which effectively removes the model from the table.

Does this count as instant death?
Does a model with Eternal warrior (page 74 of w40k rulebook) have immunity to this?

Cheers
F

Eternal Warrior will not protect it from an attack like this. Same with the Chaos psychic power Gift of Chaos and the Ork SC Old Zogwort.

yep, Gul is right on this one.

Eternal Warrior only protects specifically against the Instant Death rule. ID only happens with weapons double the strength of your toughness, force weapons and anything that specifically says it causes ID. Unless mind worm specifically says it causes ID, Eternal Warrior doesn't have any effect on it.

Yes, the Eternal Warrior rule makes any weapon that causes the effect "Instant Death" to cause only a wound instead. If a weapon says "remove the model" it's not "Instant Death" and is not negated by Eternal Warrior. Oddly, that means a Grey Knight Force Weapon is not negated by Eternal Warrior, but a Space Marine Librarian's is, due to Old Codex Disease.

All the above are true; the psychic power does not cause 'Instant Death' so models immune to Instant Death have no defence against this power.

It's about the only good thing the DA Librarians have access to, anyway. They're so rubbish it hurts.
