In the strange and diverse universe of 40k anything goes.
I have seen Jungle fighter Cold one riders and they were very effective, nice looking models.

I never actually thought of the saber cats! I'll give that a wee look!

I've always liked the look of Cold One Rough Riders, they actaully look as of they could survive on a 40k battlefeild with the bullets and bombs flying around. Plus I would definatly hightail it if I saw them charging down on me.

I think the Cold Ones would look cool. Maybe add some handcuffs to the saddlebags. I think the Light Infantry is pretty good. Also, I really like the sound of enhanced regiment names. My Guard army centers around my Space Marine Fluff, and is known as the 14th Malachi Heavy Guard. It's a Storm Trooper regiment, led by Senior Officer Quest, and Lieutenent Mergson.

Personally, I have never been a big fan of Rough Riders or Ogryns, as the Ogryns look funny out of the blister and Rough Riders don't fit well in a Storm Trooper regiment. It's Mechanized, and is a purtian regiment. Not whiteshields, Infantry, or heavy weapon teams. Only Malachi's Finest!

You'll forgive me, but you must be mistaken. I've met your makers, and they don't even know your name...

Heavily-modified Space Marine bikes would do, if you stripped them down a bit.

I've always liked these guys, very nice conversion work.
Check the overall cost though!

My only complaint apart from the cost of those is that they look quite fragile. You know they are supposed to be charging into enemy units with lances, I just don't think it works.

However from purely a looks and conversion point of view they look spectaculer. They just don't fit in with the image and background of Rough Riders. Would work great as a scout counter in a tournament though.

it depends on what army you're talking about. they'd look just fine in say, a catachan army, but in an elysian army or a cadian army, they'd look a little weird.
