Default Normal Models as Special Characters?

I think this would qualify for the rules section?

Alright, so this just randomly popped into my head, would you care if your opponent was running a normal model as a Special Character? by normal model I don't mean a tactical marine being used as Marneus Calgar, nothing that drastic. I'm more referring to say...

A (Khorne) CSM Aspiring champion being used as Khârn
A Farseer being used as Eldrad Ulthran
(this is assuming they are at least painted in the correct colours)
etc. etc.

I was wondering this because when I start my Dark Eldar Haemonculus coven, I would much rather use the normal Haemonculus model, rather than Urien Rakarth's.

So what do you think about it Heresy?

You could always use a 'counts as' though you should always check this with your opponent beforehand.

Personally I have no problem with people creating their own versions of characters and will always allow it if the weapon load-out is similar to the original model. (Sicarius with a sword and plasma pistol, Kantor with a stormbolter and a powerfist, etc.)

Please have a look at my space marines.

Lord Bane says: "Keep your water bill low, drink more beer!"

My girlfriend said she didn't like Daft Punk. She's single now. Hahahahahaha lol, just kidding. She's dead...

Yes it's legit in most games I have ever played as long as the weapons and gear is still WYSIWYG

No problems at all but do your opponent, and yourself, a favour and put some effort into making it clearly different to the rest of the rabble. WYSIWYG if ya can
