Tau & Space marines: Addmittedly, the space marines are the staple psycotic, racist, xenophobic monsters, but there's that one instance where the ultramarines side with tau against the 'nids or necrons, so they are the best of friends now!

Dark Eldar & Daemons: Why?

The ally matrix also indicates not only how friendly they are but also how well they work together. Eldar and Dark Eldar as far as I know speak broadly the same language so an Aurtach could lead a unit of Incubi and be able to order them around and understand them etc.

An Autarch could give orders to Incubi ... If he's grown tired of having a head. But yes, the languages of the two are pretty similar from the fluff I've read. There is one key point I forgot earlier too. The Dark Eldar don't feed on the souls of Eldar the way they do every other life-form. They may be usurpers and traitors, given the oppurtunity, to other Dark Eldar. But they typically just leave Eldar alone.

Read more fluff. Eldar, especially Exodites, are among the most prized commodities among the spires of Comorragh.

Keep in mind, Just because Tau and Space Marines are Battle Brothers doesn't mean that they are truly allies. I just means that, if the situation occurs, the two armies can trust each other enough to not betray the other during combat and just enough to coordinate attacks with each other.

I assume after the battle/campaign, its business as usual between them on the next meeting.

They are prized because they are rare. They are rare because raids are not launched against them as much. Considering the Dark Eldar can scour an entire planet in a single raid, they could surely do the same to an Exodite world. But they don't. Yes, they will feed on the suffering of Eldar but not as commonly as say Humans. So it's not the wholesale slaughter when it comes to their kin and that's the destinction. Yes, they will feed on them but not like they do every other life-form.
