Default Necron Scarabs

Have scarabs lost the Stealth USR? I'm not seeing it attached to the Swarms USR anymore so I assume they have.

Yeah its gone. All swarms have lost stealth: they now just get to move through terrain as if its not there... but don't get stealth (and I'm fairly sure they would still be reduced to I1 if assaulting through terrain- not quite figured that bit out yet).

It says they are not slowed by Difficult Terrain but the I reduction is caused by moving through the terrain, not any reduction to movement or rolling a check.

that's a bitch - personally I would go back to move 6 assault 12 for stealth, and not being affected by terrain when assaulting (Initiative wise)

Me: To be honest im amazed there isn't a chaos god of not revising or at least chaos god of procrastination

MidnightSun: There will be, when enough people do it. Y'know when the Eldar were all engaging in their hedonism and Slaanesh ripped open the Eye of Terror with his creation? Slaanesh will have NOTHING on the God of Procrastination, and his vile minions will carve the galaxy asunder in a thousand year reign of blood.... Tomorrow

Initiative step is irrelevant when assaulting vehicles though, which should be their primary targets.

.... and who really cares when you have a might I2. It only really matters if you have enough attacks to drown a powerfist or other S6+ I1 weapon before it attacks.

That's a subtle change in wording from 5th ed. In 5th, it mattered if the unit had to test to move through terrain, not just move through it. And the change affects more than just Scarabs and other slow Swarms. Wraiths and C'Tan Shards who both ignore terrain too can now be slowed. The Wraiths, in particular, relied on slowing foes to I1 and killing them first.

Anyone else notice how generally shitty move through cover is? I mean losing stealth for a role the only make s unit slightly fast in cover is a slap in the face. Still it does help a tiny sum when you consider that scarabs should never leave cover until they can do their job.

Scarabs are the cost of a Tactical Marine a model and can eat a landraider alive with like 10 of them, if they assault a landraider thats 5 attacks per base, hitting on 5's and then stripping armour on 4's, and then when your shooting at it, you can easily remove the hull points.

Do not post actual points values, thanks.

Scarabs hit any vehicle on 3s at the worst now.

As such, all of your moanings are invalidated.

Strange, but not a Stranger.
