Biovore base size?

What is the official base size for a Tyranid biovore?

I recently bought 2 sealed biovores and one came with a 40mm base, the other a 60mm base. I've checked some forums and theres a bit of an argument but from what I can see no official ruling.

The biovore pictured in the brb is on a 60mm, so has there been a shift? Odd because their no bigger than a hive/ tyrant guard who are on 40mm.

Is there a chart somewhere? There is no way I'm using the "use the base supplied ruling" and having different sized bases in the brood

Actually the 6th book says you can use what you ant as a base size.

I've always seen them on a 40mm.

I would stick with your gut, as it digests food and provides you the nutrients and energy you need to live. Plus, there's no real alternative, unless you're going to rip out your organs for no reason.

... 40mm base.

BRB pg 3. "feel free to mount models on appropriate base.."

The GW site states it comes with a 60mm but shows it with a 40mm. Unless that's a fucking huge model and I'm mistaken (twice in one week?! NO!).

What does gw class as an appropriate base though?
In friendly games nobody will give a shit, but in more competitive enviroments it may make a bigger difference, GW's obvious aim at the former leaves a gap in the latter

I see Canis getting re-based in many armies then or can we argue that the "appropriate" base is the one on GW's site as SGM pointed out

There's no clarification or requirement that it use the base supplied. Which tells me they figured out that it is an insignificant difference, and usually a disadvantage to the player with the larger base.

My Skull Champions on 40mm rejoice!

Would Canis be smaller or larger? He's already on a 60mm.

Strange, but not a Stranger.
