Default Piling into Tyranid Lash Whips or Necron Whip Coils

When watching bluetablepaintings Necrons vs Chaos batrep and interesting question came to my mind. Shawn charged some bloodcrushers with Wraiths (the were modelled with whip coil but had that gun so didn't apply).
The Bloodcrushers would pile in at I4, what would have happened if the Wraiths had Whip Coils that reduces models in base contact to I1.

So would the Bloodcrushers pile in at I4 but then be unable to hit as they are reduced to I1?

That's how I read it to be. And since Whip Coils/Lash Whips are now applied last, initiative increasing wargear is essentially nullified.

Banshee Masks are also 'set value modifiers' and therefore are applied at the same time as Whip Coils. It's in the FAQ; you roll off and see if you get I1 or I10.

Heh

The Eldar, more than any other army, should not only look at the output of each unit individually, but the synergy of multiple units together and their role in the force as a whole. - Fable

I love that a high initiative model can rush in during its consolidation and be stopped in its tracks. It's like if you were out running and somebody dropped a net on you.
