Default Multiple combat melee results

So, I had one unit engaged with three (1 daemon prince, beserkers, csm). I somehow won combat, granted only by 1 (only one model died). My question is, who takes their morale check at -1? Does my opponent decide which of his squad does? Or does the squad that took the casualty suffer the penality?

Thanks

All units on the losing side of a multiple combat suffer the ill-effects.

Yup.
In that combat you have 1 fearless model and 2 units: each has been defeated by 1 point and so suffer the effects, meaning the DP takes a No Retreat wound and the 2 infantry units both take a Ld check at -1.

This can be one reason why fearless can be a downside- its not too hard to pass a Ld 8-9 check, but taking wounds as soon as you start losing is just painful. It also leads to situations like this:
A Necron spyder and a unit of scarabs are attacking some marines; the marines can't really hurt the spyder but can rack up the kills on the scarabs. In the end the marines win combat by +6, so both the scarabs and the spyders take 6 wounds to save (since both are fearless)... having those scarabs in the fight has just seriously hurt the tomb spyder!
