Default Canoptek Spyders and Fabricator Claw Arrays

Does adding a Fabricator Claw Array to a Canoptek Spyder give it an extra attack since it says it counts as a close combat weapon?

It seems odd that they would specify that it was a Close Combat weapon in the codex if it made no difference to the way it attacked. What is the model considered to be attacking with if it doesn't specifically say it has a CC weapon in its gear profile?

Anything and everything, but not good weapons specifically for killing.

Hey look at Arcoflagellants sometime they have their arms as weapons but only count as a single weapon, go figure.

Wife: "How much do you have invested in these ... miniatures?"

Me: "I don't think invested is the right word."

Or Possessed, who are practically living weapons but still have only 1 close combat weapon.

Oh, and the foot-long combat knives of the Space Marines don't count as Close Combat Weapons. Go figure.

Perhaps in 6th. ed. all models will be considered to come with a close comba weapon even if not listed. Otherwise the codex just has unnecessary information like all of the others. It'd be nice if Wraiths for example were counted as having a ccw, then adding the pistol weapon they can have would be more viable.

See I naturally assumed that anyway until I was corrected

Me: To be honest im amazed there isn't a chaos god of not revising or at least chaos god of procrastination

MidnightSun: There will be, when enough people do it. Y'know when the Eldar were all engaging in their hedonism and Slaanesh ripped open the Eye of Terror with his creation? Slaanesh will have NOTHING on the God of Procrastination, and his vile minions will carve the galaxy asunder in a thousand year reign of blood.... Tomorrow
