Default The Parasite of Mortrex

Am I reading this correctly?

For each casualty it causes in close combat (potential of 5 on the charge) your opponent takes a toughness test.
For each failed toughness test, you roll a D6.
You then gain a swarm of Rippers equal to the sum total of the dice rolled at the end of the Assault phase.

That's a potential 30 bases of Rippers a turn.

Surely not... Has it been FAQed anywhere?

I guess I'd better start sticking together a metric tonne of rippers then.

I was unfortunately on the receiving end of the Parasite's wounds the other day. It didn't get too many bases against my Necrons but we are tough 4. Against my Dark Eldar I'd be screwed but might not have lost combat either. At any rate, why do Tyranids get to produce additional scoring units so much? Tervigons and the Parasite in objective games is just nasty.

Rippers aren't scoring, just annoying really. But in annihilation games I would never take a parasite, and not spawn things with a tervigon, it's just offering up free kill points.

True, but type of game is rolled up after you've turned up and are ready to play (in our group anyway). Changing your list predeployment is just rude.

Free kill points is true, but it's also more units you can kill things with too. Rippers aren't scoring, but they can mess up infantry in large numbers... And change people's target priority, which can be very useful.

I'm gonna have fun trying this chap out.
