Chapter Master vs Defiler

Could a space marine chapter master or captain destroy a defiler single handedly?

He'd have to get damn close with the right gear to destroy it, but is it realistic?

Figure a melta-pistol and a relic blade would be effective.

With out figuring the math, and direct knowledge of stat lines and skills:

Kantor: Maybe, but not likely, wargears not brilliant
Calgar: Highly likely, 2x Powerfist's, as long as he made the assault and gained the extra attack.
Pugh: Likely, 2 Thunder hammers, however, these would of course mean last attack due to getting a Ini of 1.
Helbrecht: Again possibly, as long as he made the assault.
Kahn: as above.

can't think of the others info of the top of my head.

TL;DR = Depends who it is.

O Caido o senhor das guerras,
O Caido o senhor das demandas,
quando O Caido chega
O Caido quem manda

Fluff wise then yes, I think killing a defiler is one of those heroic moments Chapter Masters and Captains Excel at.

Dude, if my scout sgt can kill one with a meltabomb, then I'm pretty sure a 400+ yr old veteran with the specific know-how, equipment and skills shouldn't find it too hard.
