Need some soothers mate? That was a big cough.

And I would like to point out that both of said (or coughed) armies have the means to block the warp off.

So I stand by what I said (or coughed).

Fully agree with Ultra111. But as he says Abaddon (best chance of banding all the chaos legions and traitors together) has some kind of syndrome (probably from his sword) so no, it will never happen.

Got to admit, I tried to actually do it and I think I lost a lung.

But not totally and not on that scale.

If the Legions of Chaos could do that, they would destroy the Imperium. However, rivalries remain. The World Eaters DESPISE the Thousand Sons, and on that note ANYONE who practises magic. With the rivalries between the gods this is impossible, it has been known for the World Eaters to butcher other Chaos forces. So, as long as the Dark Gods remain opposed to each other, the Chaos Legions will also be opposed to each other.

If I remember, without the Imperium chaos would pretty much cease to exist? It was something along those lines...

So if the chaos gods know that, they wouldn't let them go out to destroy the imperium.

That is if I remember correctly...

I think your referring to the theory that without mortals as a whole chaos would cease to exist. But even without all of humanity (not just the Imperium) chaos would still endure.

Isn't it established lore, though, that the Ruinous Powers (Khorne, Nurgle and Tzeentch, at any rate) didn't become discernibly powerful until Humanity hit its stride (roughly corresponding with our European gunpowder age)?

Because, by contrast, it took the entire Eldar galactic empire to implode in a psychic mess for Slaneesh to come about.

That's what the old Realm of Chaos books postulated I believe. But I think it's been subtly but surely retconned now. The Chaos Gods are the gods of mortals as a whole, not just humanity - which those books seemed to suggest by saying they gained consciousness during humanity's dark ages.

I seriously doubt it, from day one they were p***ing each other off and if they couldn't get their act together then I doubt they could now. They all think they are better than each other and when it comes down to it, that will always stop them from being successful.

Hmmm, I don't know...

Given, they could have just been fundamentally dishonest, but
