Default Inquisitor Obiwan Sherlock Clousseau from the lore of 1st Edition Rogue Trader

What does everyone think of Inquisitor Obiwan Sherlock Clousseau from the lore of 1st Edition Rogue Trader? I think he shows that 1st Edition Rogue Trader was more of a parody than anything else. He appeared in the linked book below.

Apart from some of the art work and bits of lore in a very broad sense, I remember next to nothing of rogue trader. I do remember you could have plasma and melta missiles and imperial guard dreadnought but as for who you mentioned, I wouldn't have a Scooby doo. However it was quite tongue in cheek, don't think the writers imagined how successful the thing would become

He is on page 144 in Rick Priestley's Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader from 1987 for 1st Edition Rogue Trader. I linked the book to him.

This strikes me as an early joke that GW would rather we all forgot.

Can't find the source, but I recall one of the RT designers saying Space Marines were a parody of Starship Troopers.

RT is packed with in-jokes and British humour, but the system isn't a parody of other systems; so, I'd say the background is somewhere between pastiche and homage, but the book isn't more parody than anything else overall.
