it seems like these 18 men were privileged compared to the rest of the astartes, and imperium citizens

is that fair?

i mean you get lucky to be born a primarch, (your consciousness) you get lucky and are born pretty much a demi-god superior to your legion etc.... more powerful then any other human besides your other brothers that equal you

18 men were more important then everyone else? besides emp

it just doesnt seem fair

Could we start a petition to force Emperorguard to submit topics to a mod and have said mod filter out the random crap he asks? Like, this isn't even an in-universe question.

No, it wasn't unfair. Their privileges matched their capabilities.

Why is treating the Emperor better than everyone else fair? Because he was better than everyone else (in most senses of the word).

Moving on.

I suppose it was fair in the context that the primarchs, and the Emperor operated within deemed it fair. The very definition of "fair" hinges upon a societies social norms, as well as their cultural values. If we were to assess the utilization of the concept of "Fairness" within the warhammer 40k mythos, with that of our worlds paradigm of "Fair" the answers would be wide spread. This is due to the fact that within our world alone there exists a countless number of paradigms that societies, as well as various periods of time employed.

Societal norms are often shaped by the needs, and the wants of a society within a set period of time. The needs and subsequent wants of the citizens of the Imperium of man would have been subject to vast variance, this in part is because the imperium of man was lightyears in scope. Thus if one were to analyze the societal norms of the Imperium of Man based upon its' overall needs as a collective entity, than one may surmise that its greatest desire was to "survive". Under the prior stated pretense it is with confidence one is able to conclude that the Primarchs were treated "fairly", this is due to the primarchs fulfilling a galactic sized market demand. In particular the Primarchs were able to provide a product, and or service that was in high demand. Thus because the product/service of "survival" was in such high demand, and its supply was lower than the demand the Primarchs could charge whatever they wanted upon the supply/demand curve. In essence the Primarchs were suppliers of a highly demanded product/service, of which they charged the price of being adored, respected, praised, and treated more "fairly" than others.

In conclusion it is without a doubt that the ability for us to determine if the Primarchs were treated fairly within their own respective world, according to their realities endorsed paradigm of "fair" would be near impossible. However if we were to use one of the paradigms within this world in order to deem if they were treated "fairly", the answer would be both yes and no. This is due to the fact that depending upon which paradigm we choose to utilize, as well as in conjunction with which set of historical (even present) societal expectations the answer would vary.

Life is not fair. Should someone get treated better because they are born to rich parents? No, but many would argue that they are treated better.
When it comes to the primarchs, even before the Emp found them, they were all doing something big on the planet they were on. Depends on the primarch what that was. Still, these are post humans that were MADE to be better than everyone else. That includes the standard Astartes even though they are above a standard human. So just by being who they are, then yes, IMO, they should be treated better.

Emperorguard500,

Here are some more topics for you to get on:

1. Are Primarchs larger than normal people?
2. Do you think the Night Haunter liked to scare people? If so, how much more than a Night Lord Space Marine?
3. Is it good that the Inquisition tortures people?
4. Eldar seem too much like elves in space - discuss.
5. Why do Space Marine bikes have such large tires?
6. How popular are mustaches with Space Marines?
7. Why only twenty Primarchs?
8. Luther: does he part his hair, or does he slick it back?

Regards,
Me

Being created, not just born, without the ability/desire/opportunity to enjoy sexual intercourse? Or being forcible transformed in pre-pubescence to such? Now that there's unfair.

Just as a note, that's a serious non-salacious comment.

Because they were made to be the lords, movers and shakers of mankind. The Emperor's generals.

The effect on a mortal upon getting in the presence of a Primarch, is to want to fall to their knees and follow them to the end of the world. Nearly all of them, shared that aura of supremacy. A domineering presence so potent that they could sway and direct armies, as well ensuring the unswerving loyalty of their astartes gene-sons.

The sole exception being Angron, damaged by the nails, he never projected the aura that made others follow his brothers, and the War Hounds willingly mutilated themselves in the forlorn hope of getting to experience the bond between a primarch and his sons that was so openly evident in the other legions.

Here's a question, who poses the strangest posts, Emperorsguard500 or Lux? Discuss

Oh, however excellent post in this thread Lux, please post more like that :)

Well this isn't being taken seriously, so yea.

Thread closed.

Emperorguard, PLEASE do some real research before posting threads like this. Many of the questions you ask can be answered in five or less minutes of research. This kind of thread does not make for a productive discussion as was rather evident rather early.
