I wasn't so bummed about the lack of new tech as I was about the lack of a basic explanation of the political situation in the SW universe. There's a new republic that's different from the resistance that's different from the rebellion who's fighting the First Order that's different from the Empire, but I'm not sure how all that works. I get that the First Order is a fragment of the once mighty empire, but how is the Resistance different from the New Republic? Hux says the Republic is sympathetic towards the Resistance in his speech, but I don't get the connection? Does the Republic not have it's own military?

That's true, he really can't be judged until you see Episodes 8 and 9 as well. I do hope he becomes less childish as the films progress though.

I agree. I didn't even realize there was back story to read. I guess I'm a bit out of the loop on that part (but I have been very busy the past several years). I'm glad at least there is an explanation for his actions. I just still don't know what that is...

I couldn't agree more. She has to have survived the destruction of Starkiller, otherwise this is a mistake similar to Darth Maul (i.e. create a cool looking villain only to kill them off before really developing them--although on a much smaller scale & Darth Maul at least had a sweet fight scene).

This would be amazing. I too hope the fan speculation is true.

I hope not. I for one would never like to see Jar Jar again. Ever.
