Default Alice in Wonderland

Wasn't really sure what to expect going in, Tim Burton excites me equally as much as he infuriates me with his films, but glad to say this was a pleasureable experience.

Wonderland allows him great liberties with his usual creative and visual flair, and both the characters and enviroment is finely crafted.

Acting is top notch, Johnny Depp, Alan rickman, Anne Hathaway and Mia Wasikowska (alice) are particularly endearing.

The script has a few lines which hit offbeats and made me squirm, but overall the story plays out at a wonderful pace, dipping nicely between action, quiet contemplation and general sillyness.

All round it's a very solid fantasy adventure film, up their with Burton's best efforts.

On a 3D note - I'm not entirely sure if the 3D is worth it for this, it's used sparingly and thankfully more to enhance than show off, very similar to Coraline. I'd definitely recommend the film, but i think you could take or leave the 3D.

Looks like shit to be honest. Too much special effects ruin a movie, they steal away the plot and cover up poor acting with flashy crap. Like 90% of Burton's movies, it will ultimately disappoint and be forgotten.
