I just saw it today, and even though I thought it was slow in several spots, I actually enjoyed the movie. It is one that I would recommend to see this year.

Captain Galus you're pretty close to the official version that the director has given.

I dunno, I thought District 9 looked pretty, and had some great ideas, but fell a little bit flat. Aparteid (sp) was a horrible thing, but D9's reference to it really seemed dumbed down to me. I had a long talk with my wife after seeing it on Saturday night, and we both think it odd that

That being said,

So, District 9 certainly isn't a bad film, and I'm glad that I saw it in the theatre, but I think the contemporary setting of the film took away from the overall message a bit. If it had been a bit further into the future, I think it would have been easier for me to buy the overall corruptness of the governments around D9, and the

The movie really makes you think and get involved
Yes it did. I found this to be a damn good movie with the constant shakey cam being the only downside. Nature of the movie however and it made sense at most parts when it was utilized. That aside however, I was glad I went to see it and could recommend it to anyone.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

I want to see the film but I'm pretty sure my wife wont want to ..... have to wait for the DVD. The trailer looks awesome though.

I thought it was a great movie. Many action movies do not have believable characters. The characters in this movie could be anyone off the street who is thrust into the situation of the movie.

finally saw D-9 last night, it wasn't the best film ever (or even of the year which is more likely Inglorious Basterds or Star Trek or maybe Watchmen), but it was a very good film (how awesome was that storm-grenade-launcher-thing. i think that the sale of COGS armies for AT-43 is likely to go up quite a lot. i'm not convinced tha the miniatures and film are entirely co-incidental

I watched it night before last. Fucking awesome, the fight scene at the end was top quality.

Incidentally I watched Basterds last night and thought it was a boring long winded waste of time.
