Watchmen is a look at what people would really be like if they put on costumes and decided to fight crime. It's an excellent narrative on human nature, but also very gory and there are at least two points in the move with major sexuality, which I think upsets some people.

Gran Torino is a look at what "Dirty" Harry Callahan would do if he lived in a neighborhood of Asiatic and Afro-American hoodlums. Hilarity and ass-kicking ensues. The movie also contains some powerful anti-racism, family values, and nonviolence (surprisingly enough) vibes, so it's actually a good family film! Providing nobody in your family is under the age of 18, of course.

Well we went and saw Grand Torino and we LOVED it! It was easily the best Clint Eastwood movie I have seen. It had awesome characters Clint was hilarious and the ending was great. I couldnt recomend it more. I think I will watch watchmen with the guys, wife wasnt to thrilled with the idea of loads of gore Thanks for the input

Now if you havent seen Grand Torino go see it

Watchmen didn't seem over the top gory to me. Any slasher or teen horror film is worse than what was in the watchmen. At least it didn't seem like it was senseless gory and when it was used, there was a purpose for it.
