Heresy Online's 2010 Conversion Contest Session 1 - Sponsored by Bits and Kits

Alright folks, after a long hiatus, the Conversion Contest is ready to begin once again and this time around, thanks to our own Bitsandkits, we have a wickedly cool prize to give to the winner: 50GBP of store credit (80US/CAN)! We can't thank Bits enough for the donation but we can give him the shout out for it so be sure to stop by the Bits and Kits Website to check it out. Now on to the rules for the contest.



Heresy Online Conversion Contest Rules


1 - This contest will be purely for conversions only, no paint allowed whatsoever. Model MUST be shown without paint of any kind, even basecoat.

2 - This Conversion Contest will last for a total of 3 months, ending on March 31st.

3 - What mini you use is up to you. This includes manufacturer as well. This is not a GW only thing so feel free to throw in minis from Privateer, Rackham, etc.

4 - At the end of the timeframe, a new poll will be made in order for all on the forum to vote for who they feel has the coolest conversion.

5 - Only one entry per person

6 - Please limit your pics to 5 total. There is no need for 15 pics of the same model.

7 - Pics must be direct links only, no attachments allowed. Also one picture of the miniature held in front of your monitor with Heresy Online showing is required as proof that this is in fact your miniature. If you are unable to take the proof pic, your mini will be disallowed.

8 - Any questions should be pm'd to me directly. Please don't ask them in the main thread.

My entry, a 3 man broadside team. SMS are from the vehicle sprues. ASS has been represented using burst cannons, and the feet have been modified to allow for more poses.






The most heavily converted suit, including reposing the legs atthe knee joint.

Here is my entry.

A kroot Master Shaper. Built for a friend of mine.
I'm not sure if you're after details on the conversion but he is made from a kroot carnivore, 4 different WHFB sprue leftovers, completely greenstuffed cape and leg wraps and has been pinned 7 times. A new record for any of my conversions. (Including metals)

Also. I had no idea how hard it was to take pics of your mini's in front of a 'puter screen. Hopefully it is proof enough. (If not please tell me)

Originally I was gonna enter another model into this comp. but alas the model had a component that had been undercoated. Instead I have made a completely new conversion for my Red Corsair force to enter into this contest and the other painting contest.

A little fluff: Before the Badab War the Red Knight was the 2nd company champion of the Red Corsairs. During the events leading up to the Badab War the Red Knight was one of the first to swear absolute loyalty to the chapter master and renounce the Emperor. As the war broke out the Red Knight proved his worth time and time again, slaying numerous loyalist heroes in boarding actions and ground assaults. The battle at the Palace of Thorns proved the Red Knight to be a truly unique traitor. As his chapter master fell, instead of leaving Lufgt Huron and assuming command of the survivors the Red Knight lead a dangerous counter attack to recover the wounded Huron. This act showed a very rare trait amongst traitors: loyalty, and ensured the he was well rewarded and trusted by the reborn Huron Blackheart. The Red Knight still wields the traditional equipment of a company champion (although twisted and enhanced by the chaos gods).
