Inquisition1 Allies in witch/daemon hunters

In comparison to the rules on taking guard and marine allies, taking witch/daemon hunters as allies for each other seems a bit more grey to me. Checked FAQ for both not had no luck on these questions:

cant take guard allies if marines are taken, fine. cant take GKs or SoBs if marines are present, fine. you can only take the stated number of witch/daemon hunters as allies in marines/guard, fine but what about for example...

I'm planning a witch hunter army, is the choice/number of daemon hunter allies that can be taken the same for witch hunters as for guard/marines?

Can I take allies from two different armies as long as they don't clash? e.g take both guard AND daemonhunters allies in a witch hunter army? if so, how many of each can I take?

Can I take both daemon hunter AND witch hunter allies in a guard army?

Can I take an ordo malleus inquisitor lord as an ally in a witch hunter army even though I have already taken an ordo hereticus inquisitor lord as they're technically different so it wouldn't actually be breaching their 0-1 limit?

cheers,

Hi Alto...

Nice set of questions... as I was about to post a similair thing with something I can doing and would like some clarification too.

Whats the points cost now for the DH/WH stuff that has been replicated in other codexes? I can't find an entry on it, perhaps I am blind. But I see I could do marines with allies DH, but if i say took an Storm Trooper unit as a troop choice from DH under allied rules, (2 troop)... do I have to pay the cost listed there and play with them as they are listed there? Example being Chimera with DH compared to IG codexes.

I remember reading something about the LRC for DH... but maybe I was wrong?
I am old... half blind.... I can hear wolves coming and its cold... where did I put my medication etc...? Thankyou in advance.

Yes to everyting, except you may only ever have one allied force at a time. Thus you can have Sisters and Deamonhunters but not Sisters, Guard, and Deamon Hunters.
check the FAQ's for additional clarification.

Yes, the allies FOC limits apply to DH if you take them as allies in a WH force (like NO HS, 01 HQ, 0-1 E, etc).

As for points costs. You pay the points costs AS LISTED in their codex.

Inquisition storm troopers ARE NOT guard stormtroopers.
Hellguns ARE NOT hotshot lasguns (and are not AP3).
Rhinos, chimeras, etc pay the cost in the DH codex, NOT the SM or IG codex (unless your opponent is sporting and lets you use the IA2 update with lower costs).

Actually, you can take both WH and DH at the same time as allies to your IG. The no other allies is for anything except other Inquisition forces. Check the newer printings of the codexes.

Inquisition1

That's the way I read it as well. I could not find any way to break my own logic and so I run with WH, DH and IG. I have had a few people tell me that I am limited to only a few choices for IG. Examples would include not being able to take Valkyrie because it is in a new codex... I haven't read anything anywhere (unless I missed it and if I did, please tell me) that limits me in that respect. I take a squad of IG veterans/stormtroopers (can't remember the name righ t now) and use the Valkyrie to move them.

According to what I have read on page 21 of the DH codex, in the box on the bottom right, you CANNOT take DH AND IG allies in a Witch Hunter army because it specifically states that using Inducted Imperial Guard and Forces from the Ordo Malleus is not kosher.

Read the rules next to the Inquisitor entry for this information. The things listed there are the only thing you can take unless the other codex specifically states you can take them as allies. This is why you can take DH allies even though the WH book doesn't list what units you can actually take from them.

^ from another post I made on the same topic.

HOWEVER I would appear that there is a loophole and you CAN include both DH and WH allies in an IG parent army.

Welcome to the Inquisition.
