Default What period of Human History

OK, what period of Human History would you most like to live in?

For me it has to be when we were hunter gatherers.

Small population, freedom to hunt with a bow and no organised group telling you how to live your life

I'd love to be in rome back during the height of the roman empire. Something just appeals to me about that period. Or alternatively I'd be around at the year Jesus was born, in Judea so I'd be able to see for myself what all the fuss about this jesus fellow was about.

Edited: as Red Orc is completely correct, and also to clarify.

EDIT: It's nice to help clarify things... and, it sounds like a good plan!

I might complain about the modern world a lot, but I think I'd not like to go back much before the late 19th century. Sewars and electricity, though not exactly necessary, are certainly a improvement on shitting in a bucket and melting whales.

:on the whole, favouring what might be optimistically called 'civilisation' cyclops:

2nd century - 4th century AD, reckoned by many historians to be the "happiest" period of history.....

Unless you where in China, when the three Kingdoms era pretty much tore it apart.

And aye, I'd love to see (not sure I'd want ot live there,) but I'd love to see if some of those portrayed in the Three Kingdoms Novel, and the minor pieces about the historically are in anyway accurate.

I'm much happier in this time period, to be honest. In the classic era you'd either have to live in a completely harsh and brutal world unless you were mega-wealthy (It still is, but not so much) if I had to choose, I'd say the Industrial Revolution. Booming econimies, lots of people with new, hungry ideas. A glorious era for the average joe.

USA, post-WWII.

Yeah, you had McCarthyism. You also had an overwhelmign sense of purpose and manifest destiny.

Oh, and Penicillin.

The Wild Wild West, when a man could clean the streets with a gun.
Sure it was nasty, dirty, and dangerous...but a good man with a peacemaker could lay down the LAAAWWWW!!!

Rome is a big draw for me too.... Mainly anytime where you could live by the sword would have been awesome.
