I'm currently doing a unit of armageddon ork hunters, clipped their legs down to make them trudging through a marshy/swamp. I'm kind of at a loss though as how to achieve a murky/greenish/dirty water look on the bases. Can anyone toss me some pointers? thanks guys.
PVA glue with some ork hide shade, or a small amount of whichever shade of green paint mixed in would probably be the easiest. I'm sure some one will offer a better solution though.
You can probably get better texture with the PVA than with the varnish. Believe it or not, try mixing static grass, orkhide shade and the water effects together and coating the base. Sounds odd, but the grass adds a real nice scummy effect to the water, especially when mixed with the wash. You might be able to use some of the green flock as well and stir it in.
