I was looking for ideas I can use to stretch my meagre budget. It got me wondering how many people have taken a GW model that was at first sight useless but done a great job re-tasking it to be a useful part of their army again. I've done this on several occasions, for example when a codex is updated and a current model became obsolete. Other examples are when you are given a model by a friend or make a purchase on e-bay to find a sad and lonely mini that initially looks like rubbish but after some hard work, finds a productive home in your army.

Descriptions of these updated models that are sent back to the frontline would be good and pictures would be great.

Here is a picture of my old battlewagon. It's no longer any good as a battlewagon as the scale is too small. However, it has been fitted out with rokkits and makes a great trukk for my HQ. Let the grunts travel in the latest jalopies, this is a vintage ride for my Warboss :-)
