500 Dwarf warband

So with the new books release I have decided to try and make my old dwarfs army mesh with the new rules.

Warband 1
King w/Two-Handed weapon - 80
x5 Khazard guard - 55
x4 Dwarfs w/x3 bows, x1 banner - 65

Warband 2
Captain w/Shield - 70
x9 Dwarfs w/x4 shields, x3 bows, x2 Two-Handed weapon - 79

Warband 3
Radagast the brown - 150


Thoughts: Radagast will help stop powerful heroes with immobilise, renew my wounded heroes and also help stop cavalry out manoeuvring me. The banner is much needed IMO, as dwarfs suffer from no spear support and I also do not want to auto lose the silly banner mission.

Bows are for obvious reasons and I prefer Khazard guard due to the bodyguard rule. A few shields and two-handed weapons sprinkled through the force with help with winning combats and killing high defence enemies.

On first look it seems like a sound list to me. Interesting inclusion of Radagast the Brown but the theory behind including him sounds good also. If you game with this army, let me know how it goes as I've looked into doing something similar in the past but never got round to it.

Sop I have got a game in this coming friday, its against Harad and Mordor allied, I will most definitely post up the results and a quick run down of how the list worked. Maybe a bat rep if I got time over the wkend.

So I had the battle and my opponent completely white washed me. He brought with him a mouth of sauron and the betrayer.

Radagast quickly fell to the combined team of the mouth and the betrayer, unable to hold them off as his will was depleted rather quickly.

Elsewhere my dwarves just got shot to pieces by the Haradrim bows and then swamped by the orc numbers with their high number of supporting attacks from spears.

In total the game lasted about 11 turns as my army was wiped out to a man who then failed his courage test and ran from the field.

It really was a silly game that became a major rout in a small amount of time, I have agreed to a rematch and the points are going to stay the same. I think i'll leave Radagast at home this time and use the points to get more bodies on the field.
